Wompatuck State Park spans 3,526 acres of forest, streams and ponds. With 12 miles of non-motorized roads and over 40 miles of forest trails, Wompatuck State Park offers numerous hiking trails for all athletic abilities. The popular Big Loop trail is a 10.7-mile loop trail that is generally considered moderately challenging and takes an average of 3 hours 36 minutes to complete. This loop passes Woodpecker Pond, the park campground, the Aaron River, Holly Pond, Heron Pond, Aaron River Reservoir, and Triphammer Pond as you loop through the forest. There are many rocky outcroppings and glacial erratic boulders throughout the property. The Wompatuck Trail is ADA accessible.
