Willand Pond Trail is an easy hike covering 1.9 miles with an elevation gain of 42 feet, taking approximately 30 minutes to 1 hour to complete. The trail is an out-and-back routethat follows the northern side of the pond, beginning in Dover and ending in Somersworth. The trail is shaded throughout most of the walk with great spots to view the 66-acre Willand Pond. Fitness stations are located along the trail, along with a picnic area featuring tables and benches overlooking the pond. The pond is stocked with trout and is open to small boats without motors. The trail surface consists of boardwalk sections (with partial edge barriers), gravel, and natural dirt-and-root surfaces that are typically 3 to 5 feet wide. The majority of the trail features a gentle grade of 3% or less, making it suitable for walkers and cyclists alike. Accessible parking with designated van-accessible spaces is available at the paved lot off High Street at the southeast end.
