Whiteface Trailhead Whiteface Mountain is a moderate hike that covers 2.9 miles with an elevation gain of 784 feetand is an out-and-back trail near Gilford, New Hampshire. Your effort will be rewarded with beautiful 360-degree views from the summit, withexpansive views to the west and north, encompassing the Sandwich Range and parts of Squam Lake. Be prepared for steep sections and some rock scrambling, andthe upper part follows a jeep road that has been heavily impacted by ATV use. During the spring, you’ll find lovely wildflowers, and you may spot porcupines and other wildlife along the way.
