Webb Memorial State Park This is an easy 1.5-mile loop traillocated ona peninsula that extends half a mile into Hingham Bay. The walk features wonderful ocean views, interesting plant life, and shells and rocks on the beach, withscenic views of Boston’s harbor and skyline. The trail surface is gravel with mostly gentle grades, andbenches are available along the way. The park offers a mix of cultural and natural highlights. Along the trails are memorials to Weymouth citizens, and the park offers parking, trash barrels, picnic tables, benches, and rest rooms. Historically, the site housed a Nike anti-aircraft missile launcher in the late 1950s that was deactivated in 1974, and air vents from the missile facility are visible from the trail. The 36-acre park is located on a grassy peninsula between Weymouth’s Back and Fore Riversandis the only mainland portion of the Boston Harbor Islands National Recreation Area.
