The Watertown-Cambridge Greenway is a 2-mile paved multi-use path connecting Watertown and Cambridge along the former B&M Railroad’s Watertown Branch. This is an easy, out-and-back rail trail suitable for walkers, cyclists, and runners of all abilities. The trail curves through residential and commercial areas while trees shield it from nearby development, with several tunnels allowing you to avoid crossing busy roads before entering the Fresh Pond Reservation where it hugs the eastern edge of Fresh Pond. Key highlights include Kingsley Park, Butterfly Meadow, and the Fresh Pond Reservation Dog Park with sandy dog-friendly beach and pond access. The greenway connects with the Fresh Pond Bikeway at the Fresh Pond Reservation endand links to broader regional trail networks. Note: Parking at Fresh Pond Reservation is only for permitted Cambridge residents. The trail is popular for commuting and recreation, andparking is available at Arsenal Park in Watertown.
