Wadsworth Falls State Park, Middletown, Connecticut This park offers trails on gently rolling terrain for hikers, mountain bikers, horseback riders, and cross-country skiers. The park features 4.5 miles of varied trails, withthe popular Wadsworth Falls Loop covering 3.6 miles with 360 feet of elevation gain. Most trails are easy to moderate in difficulty, thoughseveral do have challenging, steep, rocky hills. Trails lead to Little and Big Falls, as well as the giant Mountain Laurel. The park showcasesviews of Wadsworth Falls and Coginchaug River, withthe big waterfall about 30 feet tallaccessible via short walk from parking. Beyond hiking, the Coginchaug River is stocked with trout, and the park offersa designated swimming area with three hundred feet of sandy beach on a fresh water pond.
