This moderate, 5.6-mile out-and-back trailprovides access toa serene, secluded pond with a sheer cliff of Webster Slide Mountain rising above it. Hikers follow the Appalachian Trail and pass the Ore Hill Shelter, offering opportunities for both dayhiking and backpacking. Highlights include beautiful fall scenery, a pleasant pond, and nice camping spots. The Wachipauka Pond Trail is a section of the Appalachian Trail leading past Wachipauka Pond on the way to the summit of Webster Slide Mountain, withspectacular views from Mount Mist overlooking Wachipauka Pond, the cliffs of Owl’s Head, and Mount Moosilauke. Note thatvisitors have mentioned the trail can be quite muddy in the spring and summer months.
