Vin Gormley Trail is an 8-mile moderately-rated loop traillocated within Burlingame Management Area near Charlestown, Rhode Island. The trail features long boardwalks, stonewalls, and a covered bridgewherehikers can enjoy the iconic Perry Healy Brook Covered Bridge. The trail follows the south end of Watchaug Pond as it cuts across the Audubon Society’s Kimball Wildlife Sanctuary, offeringquiet forest sections, wildlife, and charming scenery. Be prepared for multiple road walks; many hikers recommend doing the trail in a counterclockwise direction to get the busiest road walk out of the way first. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on leash, andthe trail is open year-round.
