Tuckerman Ravine Trail is a challenging route, with an 8.0-mile out-and-back trail that begins at the Pinkham Notch AMC Visitor Center. The first 2.4 miles is relatively mild, making it a good section for families or those seeking a relaxing hike in the woods, featuring a beautiful waterfall (Crystal Cascade) within the first 10 minutes. Beyond Hermit Lake at 3,875 feet, the trail becomes truly a beautiful, but steep and exposed path, withmultiple waterfalls running down the ravine walls and several sections where streams flow past or across the path. Highlights include stunning views, a scenic waterfall, and relatively uncrowded trails, whilechallenges are steep climbs, rocky scrambles, and unpredictable weather. The best times to visit this trail are April through September.
