Dinosaur State Park & Arboretum, Rocky Hill, Connecticut This park provides 2.25 miles of hiking trails with informational sign boards on native plants, habitats, and natural history, and featureswide, mostly dry, and easy trails with a few small hills. The park’s nature and hiking trails wind through a rich diversity of habitats, including swamps, dense forest, meadows, and a traprock ridge composed of basalt rock. The primary attraction isover 750 early Jurassic dinosaur footprints, one of the largest dinosaur track sites in North America, preserved in place viewable inside the museum. The arboretum contains more than 250 species of Mesozoic Era plants, trees, and shrubs curated to recreate an environment that closely reflects the one the dinosaurs roamed many centuries ago. Additional features includeboardwalks through red maple and shrub swamps, native plants, a butterfly garden, and vernal pool.
