The Gonic Trails, Rochester, New Hampshire Three separate trails wind through this forested property skirting the Isinglass River off Rochester Neck Road. Locke’s Local Loop and Watson’s Way are both loop trails measuring close to 1.5 miles in length, while Luanne’s Lane is 3.5 miles each way. These trails are easy—perfect for a casual walk or a family hike. The primary attractions includehiking down to the Isinglass River to see the falls, andsometimes otters are seen playing in the water. Interpretive maps at the trailhead highlight interesting features including the site of the Watson Homestead, an aband oned road used in the 1800s, and the remains of a saw mill from the 1730s. The trails are open year-round for fall leaf-peeping or winter snowshoeing, mountain biking is permitted, and leashed dogs are allowed on the trails.
