Skatutakee Mountain Trail This 4.5-mile loop trail near Hancock, New Hampshire is generally considered a moderately challenging route, taking an average of 2 hours 11 minutes to complete. The trail meanders through open woodland where you can see beautifully carved wood animals made from dead wood, then past log bridges and stones before ascending gradually through lengthy S-curves. The Skatutakee summit rewards you with views of the Wapack Range and Crotched Mountain and a partial view toward Mount Monadnock, while Thumb Mountain’s peak provides expansive views of Mount Monadnock. The trail is located in Carpenter Marsh State Wildlife Management Area. Bring bug spray and start early for the best experience.
