Shannon Beach is a swimming beach with adjacent recreation and picnic area located in Mystic Lakes State Park. The area featuressandy shores along Upper Mystic Lake with views of surrounding hills and forested edges. This isprimarily a day-use area with picnic facilities, open sunrise to sunset. Rather than a hiking trail, Shannon Beach serves as a recreational destination. However, the nearby Mystic Lake Trail is a 3.1-mile out-and-back trail generally considered easy, taking an average of 57 minutes to complete. The trail is popular for birding, hiking, and running. Accessible paths from the parking lot to the beach and picnic grove are available, with beach wheelchairs available. A net-zero bathhouse opened at Shannon Beach in 2023, featuring solar panels and family restroom facilities. The area includes a playground, seasonal snack bar, and nearby boat ramp. Free parking is available onsite.
