Seth Low Pierrepont State Park This 305-acre public recreation area in Ridgefield, Connecticut offerseasy hiking around the lake, but moderate terrain with steep sections elsewhere. The most popular trail is the Park Loop (White, Orange, Blue, and Yellow), which is 4.4 miles long with an elevation gain of 662 feet. The park features a trail circling Pierrepont Pond before ascending through classic Connecticut forest, where you can listen for songbirds like the wood thrush while walking among ferns and native wildflowers. The top of Barlow Mountain offers views of Pierrepont Lake, Redding hills, and on rare occasions, Long Island Sound. Historic features include an old foundation of the Scott House dating from the 1720s at the boat launch area.
