Riverwood Preserve, Westerly, Rhode Island Riverwood Preserve consists of 148 acres of woodland, rocky ridges and fresh water wetlands adjacent to the Pawcatuck River and the Boy Scout Camp. The preserve offers moderate-difficulty trails covering approximately 3.5 miles, withflat and easy terrain at the start and finish, but rocky ascents and descents in the middle sections to reach the best views. Highlights include scenic viewpoints, gorges, and viewpoints along the Pawcatuck River. Notable features include interesting quarry remnants and a descent through a beautiful gorge. Extensive trails covering a wide variety of terrain are accessible from Boy Scout Drive, andvisitors should park along Old Hopkinton Road where it meets with Boy Scout Drive.
