Red Gate Trail to Robin’s Lookout is a moderate climb with rewarding views of the valley below. The trail is located on nearly 1,000 acres of protected land that offers 11 miles of well-marked, year-round trails. The Red Gate Trail itself serves as a connector trail and access point to the broader Equinox Preserve network. The Red Gate Trail shares a section with the Blue Summit Trail before diverging, and it’s an easier hike leading to the Flatlanders Pass trail. The trail is home to diverse wildlife; keep your eyes peeled for deer, squirrels, and a variety of bird species. Primary access is at the Red Gate parking lot on West Union St.
