Quaddick State Forest features an easy, family-friendly Red-blazed Loop trail that provides views of the reservoir and a short hike around the cool water. The approximately 1.5-mile circular trailis ideal for casual hikers and offerssecluded picnic tables among the pines along the water’s edge. Located on a 203-acre Middle Quaddick Reservoir in Thompson, Connecticut, the park is managed by the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and offers opportunities for boating, swimming, fishing, and picnicking. The area was historically the site of Thompson’s town farm where elderly residents were cared for, and prior to that had been a fishing area of the Nipmuck Native Americans.
