Potter Meadow, Columbia, Connecticut This easy loop trail covers one mile on mostly flat ground, taking about 25-30 minutes to complete at a steady pace. The 34-acre preserve lies entirely within the floodplain of the Willimantic and Ten Mile Rivers, offeringa viewpoint of Ten Mile River and views along the river itself. Potter Meadow provides excellent wetland and riparian habitat that lends itself to wildlife observation and birding, andwhen the water is low, visitors can search the soft sand along the banks for animal prints. The entire parcel may be submerged and impassable after heavy rains, and may be muddy at other times.
