North Woods Stewardship Center is located in the remote Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and spans nearly 2,000 acres with over 20 kilometers of recreation trails. The All Persons Trail (0.8 miles) provides an easy, rolling tour of northern hardwood forest and is ADA-compliant, welcoming those with wheelchairs, adaptive equipment, and mobility aids. The Lang Brook Trail (0.5 miles) is an interpretive nature trail with ecological signage that follows Lang Brook upstream to a small beaver pond, while the Gardner Path (0.7 miles) is a history trail highlighting the Lang family homestead and plantation forest foundations from the 1900s. Trails wind through river valleys with hardwood forests, wetlands, and lake shorelines, with features including a turn-of-the-century round barn foundation and interpretive signage on ecology and history. The center is open year-round for self-serve trail access with no set hours, and a suggested $5 donation per individual is requested.
