Nipmuc River Trail Difficulty: Easy — fairly easy with slight elevation Trail Type: Loop —the trail makes a loop through the woods Distance: Nearly 3 miles of maintained trail, with typical hikes around 1.5 miles This management area offersaccess to about 210 acres of forested habitat, lush Hemlock forests, swampland abundant with wildlife, and access to the Nipmuc River. The water trickles over the rocks at the river, making for a soothing spot, where you may spot great blue herons and ducks. The site includes opportunities for an educational outdoor classroom. Note: the property is closed to the public in November and December due to hunting.
