Naugatuck State Forest Quillinan Reservoir Block is a 615-acre area in Ansonia and Seymour with approximately 8 miles of trails. The popular Quillinan Reservoir Perimeter Loop offers a 7.6-mile loop trail that is generally considered moderately challenging, whilea 4.7-mile loop trail features a great forest setting and is also rated moderate. The woods road between Rimmon Road and the reservoir is blazed as a blue trail providing a mostly flat walk to the reservoir with rocky slopes and brook views, ending in pines around the water. The Quillinan Block includes several miles of singletrack trail created in cooperation with the New England Mountain Bike Association (NEMBA) and Thule Corporation. Fishing, hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding are permitted, andthe area contains the 16-acre Quillinan Reservoir and several streams, including Beaver Brook and Moulthrop Brook.
