This is a 1.8-mile loop trail near Wilmington, Vermont that is generally considered moderately challenging and takes an average of 1 hour 4 minutes to complete. The loop leads up to the fire lookout at the summit of Mount Olga. The former fire watchman’s lookout provides expansive 360-degree views of the southern Vermont Green Mountains, the Berkshires to the south in Massachusetts, and Mount Monadnock to the east in New Hampshire, with the Searsburg wind farm visible to the west and Mount Snow visible to the northwest. The moderate trail ascends with several switchbacks through northern hardwoods and spruce and fir woodlands, with evidence of the land’s agricultural past visible near the beginning, including old farm machinery and stone walls.
