Mono Pond State Park Reserve, Columbia, Connecticut Mono Pond offers an easy loop trail covering 2.6 milesthat takes about 0.5–1 hour to complete. The 218-acre state park is located 8 miles southwest of Willimanticand features a landscape that transitions from lowland blueberry swamps to rocky foothills. Highlights include a large beaver lodge at the southern end of the pondandopportunities for spotting migratory water birds, woodpeckers, and songbirds. The park offers fishing, hiking, picnicking, cross-country skiing, bow hunting, and a boat launch for motorized (8-hp limit) and non-motorized boating. The park includes trails maintained by the Columbia Conservation Commission and connects to the Air Line State Park Trail.
