Money Brook Falls Trail This moderate to strenuous hike covers approximately 6.0 miles with some technical footing, making it a challenging but rewarding adventure. The distance to the falls is a little more than 2.5 miles, though the full trail extends further toward other destinations. The trail is anout-and-back route that leads into the Hopper while following Hopper Brook. The 80-foot falls are situated below Mount Greylock and spill into the Hopper, and they are particularly spectacular during certain seasons. Money Brook Falls is always a spectacular site, but if you have to pick a season to visit: try spring, when spring runoff ensures maximum water flow. The trail featureslarge hemlocks and requires crossing streams that can be challenging when water is running high, withterrain that is less than 3 feet wide for most of its duration and steep at times (15% grade). The highlight is a scenic waterfall viewing area, and a short side trail continues to the base of the falls where you can sit comfortably and absorb the setting. Hikers should be prepared for challenging terrain and expect a rewarding natural experience on this classic Berkshires trail.
