This 1.1-mile out-and-back trail near Concord, New Hampshire is generally considered easy and takes an average of 19 minutes to complete. The main trail is mostly flat and begins behind the restroom building at the Fish and Game parking lot, continuing along the Merrimack River. Wildlife highlights include great blue herons and ospreys, along with spotted sandpipers, swallows, kingfishers, and signs of minks, otters, and raccoons. At the south end of the 136-acre recreation area is a small park situated among the remains of an old power generating facility. The trail is well-maintained, wide, and relatively flat, making it kid-friendly.
