MDC Reservoir #6This easy hike covers 3.8 miles with an elevation gain of 98 feet, takingabout 1–1.5 hours to complete. The trail is a wide loop that circles the shimmering blue water, making ita wonderfully flat and easy stroll on a mix of pavement and gravel. This is a very popular area for birding, hiking, and road biking, anddogs are welcome, but must be on a leash. The western side of the loop is a section of the blue-blazed Metacomet Trail, part of the New England Trail, which leaves the Metacomet Ridge for this brief flat interlude before climbing up to Heublein Tower. A Revolutionary War Campsite historical site is located near reservoir #6.
