Maudslay State Park Hike on 16 miles of trails through fields, forests and scenic historic areasin thisformer Moseley family estate located along the Merrimack River. The park’s well-maintained trails cater to hikers of all skill levels, withthe popular Laurel, Main and Pine Trail Loop rated 4.7 stars at 4.1 miles long with 216 feet of elevation gain. The park contains one of Massachusetts’ largest naturally occurring stands of mountain laurel and features 19th-century gardens with ornamental trees, azaleas, and rhododendrons that showcase in May and June. You’ll catch beautiful views of the Merrimack River and have a good chance of spotting wildlife along the way, includingbald eagles that nest in white pines along the bluffs.
