Macedonia Brook State Park This park features 11.5 miles of foot trails, offeringsome of the most challenging ascents and some of the most spectacular vistas in Connecticut. The popular Macedonia Brook Loop is a 6.4-mile loop trail generally considered a challenging route, withbeautiful views, fun rock scrambles, and a good workout. Trails east of the park road are not as steep as those to the west, making the park accessible to different skill levels. The park’s standout features includeoutstanding views of the Taconic Range and the Catskill Mountains from Cobble Mountain (elevation 1,380′), and a trail that follows a shaded stream to Dover Stone Church Cave, where you can swim in summer months. Macedonia Brook winds through the park flanked by peaks over 1,000 feet high, with numerous springs and streams adding to the hiking experience. The main blue-blazed Macedonia Ridge Trail crosses Cobble Mountain and other peaks.
