MA NET: Section 05 (Metacomet-Monadnock Trail) Holyoke, Massachusetts Section 5 of the Metacomet-Monadnock Trail is a moderate 5-mile one-way trail located in Holyoke, Massachusetts and features beautiful views of the surrounding mountains and farmlands. The trail includes lookouts and cliffs to the west, with a smaller ridge to the east offering views of Mount Holyoke Range, Quabbin Tower and Westover AFB. From the southern sections, hikers can see radio towers of Provin Mountain and in the distance Heublein Tower on Talcott Mountain. This area is part of the original range of the Timber Rattlesnake, and while very rare, hikers should be wary and on the lookout for them.
