Lookout Rock, Oak Hill Conservation Area — Littleton, Massachusetts Oak Hill is a place to stretch your legs through its oak woodlands with many trails, some of which are old. The main loop trail is 2.8 miles long with an elevation gain of 377 feet and is considered moderate difficulty. The Summit Trail (marked red) climbs 0.7 miles with 200 feet of elevation gain directly to Lookout Rock, then continues 0.15 miles to the highest point in Littleton at 508 feet. Lookout Rock stands 475 feet high and provides panoramic views toward the south and southeast, with visibility of the John Hancock and Prudential Tower buildings on clear days, located 26.5 miles away. Beyond the summit, visitors can also explore Tophet Chasm, a temporary outlet carved by glacial meltwater from a lake 15,000 years ago, along withmountain laurel thickets (blooming May/June), beech groves, and ancient bedrock schist over 900 million years old. The property features approximately seven miles of trails total: three principal routes marked red, yellow, and blue, plus 1.1 miles of orange link trails.
