This 7.6-mile point-to-point trail near Waterville Valley, New Hampshire, is generally considered moderately challenging. Livermore Road/Trail begins from the parking area as a wide dirt road (groomed in winter) before becoming a singletrack trail that eventually connects to the Kancamagus Scenic Byway. The trail provides access to many Waterville Valley attractions: Greeley Ponds, The Boulder, Big Pines, Kettles, The Scaur, Flume, Norway Rapids, White Cascade, Tripyramids, Scaur Ridge Trail, and Old Skidder Trail. The trail runs along the Mad River that eventually makes its way down to Campton and then the Pemigewasset River. Key highlights includegood footing, glimpses of the Osceolas, and a tumbling river, plus access to scenic features like Norway Rapids, a fast-moving water slide up against a blocky ledge. Restrooms are available at this site. The trailhead is popular year-round; Waterville Valley Ski Resort operates a groomed cross-country ski trail system in the winter in the area, with additional fees apply.
