Lime Kiln Quarry Reservation is an easy loop trail covering 1.3 miles with 78 feet of elevation gain, taking about 0.5–1 hour to complete. The trail passes through wooded areas and open meadows, withsections that lead past quarry sites and natural rock formations. This64-acre property preserves historic lime quarries and kilns dating back to 1736, which operated until 1830 and were a major source of lime for plaster for homes in Chelmsford and Lowell. The trails are well marked and maintained with lots of up and down sections, andoffer opportunities to spot local wildlife.
