Kettle Pond State Park, Groton, Vermont The main Kettle Pond Trail is considered an easy hike that covers 3.2 miles with an elevation gain of 85 feet. It takes about 1–1.5 hours to complete. This is a loop trail thatis strewn with boulders and the sparkling water of the pond is always visible through the trees. The south side of the pond features rocky terrain and may be wet. You can also travel a short ADA accessible path to the boat launch. The trail is lovely for listening to loons or discovering snowshoe hares, andyou’ll find a few nice swimming spots along the trail. In addition to the Kettle Pond Trail, Groton State Forest offers over 17 miles of hiking trails.
