Difficulty: Easy Trail Type: Loop Distance: 0.34 miles This is an easy walk around a large dry kettle hole—a circular hollow created when a block of glacier ice was buried and later melted. At the southern end of the trail is a side path to the bottom of the kettle hole, offering a closer perspective of this geological feature. Most of Ledyard’s kettle holes are dry, making this a unique opportunity to observe Ice Age landscape formations up close. The trail is ideal for a quick nature walk and educational experience about Connecticut’s glacial history.
