This reservation is an expansive natural wonderland with miles of interconnected trails, offeringeasy hiking suitable for any fitness level. The 270-acre reservation has a long and varied human history, beginning with Native American encampments and agricultural use that began with early settlement, andis adjacent to Sagamore Hill, the last home and burial site of Masconomet (Masquenominet), a Pawtucket sagamore of Greater Agawam at the time of English settlement. Trails wind through woodlands and open hilltop fields with distant views of the ocean, andthe open hilltop landscape offers extraordinary views to the mouth of the Essex River, Cape Ann, and the Atlantic Ocean beyond. The most popular route, the Willow Hill and Sagamore Hill Loop, is 4.8 km long and takes approximately 1 hour 12 minutes to hike, with abundant wildlife including deer, fox, coyotes, fisher cats, and turkeys.
