JJ Shephard Memorial Forest is an easy loop trail covering 1.5 miles with minimal elevation gain, making it ideal for families and casual hikers. Originally established in 1924, the trail network features several miles of paths through forest and around wetlands. Hikers travel through woodlands and wetlands around a retired cranberry bog while exploring the headwaters of Indian Head Brook. The scenic trails are family-friendly and suitable for dogs. Ample on-site parking is available at 471 Mattakeeset Street.
