Indian Well State Park, Shelton, Connecticut Located on the west bank of Lake Housatonic, an impoundment of the Housatonic River, Indian Well State Park’s scenic waterfalls and splash pool give this park its name. The primary Indian Well Trail is a 1.7-mile loop considered moderately challenging. The trail is carved along the side of a hill with narrow, steep paths that lead around the well and up to an overlook. The blue-blazed Paugussett Trail traverses the park, andhighlights include amazing views of the river and a waterfall spot for relaxation. The park also featuresthe only public boat launch on the river, making it suitable for both hiking and water recreation.
