Hoffman Evergreen Preserve (Avalonia)Hoffman Evergreen Preserve offers easy-to-moderate difficulty hiking across an interconnected network of trails spanning 4.25 miles. The 204-acre preserve features diverse landscapes ranging from upland woods to low wetlands, dense young forest thickets, and an evolving meadow. The complex of trails includes blue, red, yellow, and orange routes with an elevation change of 341 feet. The trails meander through dense pine groves and open hardwood stands, andthe area is crisscrossed by old stone walls, a colonial highway, and stone structures. Deer, bobcats, and bears have been observedat the preserve. Dogs are welcome but must be kept on a leash.
