Heath Hen Meadow Brook Woodland Hiking Trail Stow, Massachusetts This area features a 1.6-mile loop trail that is generally considered easy and takes an average of 29 minutes to complete. The conservation land comprises wetlands, streams, meadows, and upland woods, with the wetlands acreage being extensive and comprising two-thirds of the property. There is a boardwalk over a bog and a view of an open meadow, with wildflowers and wildlife plentiful throughout. Heath Hen Meadow is home to a variety of wildlife including beaver, skunk, raccoon, opossum, deer, ducks, partridge, and an occasional blue heron. A footbridge spans Heath Hen Meadow Brook, and on the upstream side, a large beaver dam has significantly increased the extent of the wetlands.
