Half Moon Pond State Park is located in dense woods surrounding Half Moon Pond, with a vast trail system offering hikes for all ages and abilities. Popular trails includethe Half Moon Shore Trail, an easy lake-side walk around the shore of Half Moon Pond, andthe High Pond Trail, which is 1.7 miles long with an elevation gain of 219 feet. Hikers are likely to see a variety of wildlife including white-tailed deer or an occasional moose. The park featurestwo small, sandy beaches great for sunbathing and swimming, andboats are welcome at the park.
