Gully Oven Park, Lebanon, Maine This is a short, steep trail in places that requires a jump over the brook. The unique geological feature is named for an oven-shaped cavern formed amongst the rocks. The site features dramatic sheer bedrock cliffs, a waterfall rushing down the rock face to the brook below, and nooks and crannies to explore. For hundreds of years people have stopped to explore the cavern, as evidenced by graffiti carved into the stone face, which some claim dates back to the Victorian era. According to local history, 19th century Norwegian virtuoso violinist and composer Ole Bull performed a concert there in 1871 while summering in West Lebanon. On-road parking can be found on Gully Oven Road, just look for the boulder with the name engraved on it.
