Groton Conservation Trust – Blackman Field and Woods This 1.2-mile out-and-back trail near Groton, Massachusetts is generally considered an easy route, taking an average of 25 minutes to complete. The property is very scenic with views, rocky ledges, and varied forests. The trail allows visitors to discover and enjoy Paul Matisse’s “Forest Bells,” donated by the Groton artist in 1997. The Bells are formed of six tall aluminum chimes, hung in oak trees along a hillside trail and can be played by pulling ropes attached to each bell.
