Grater Woods Forest is a contiguous 480-acre parcel of property formed through land acquisitions by the Merrimack Conservation Commission. The Grater Woods Millepede Loop is considered a moderate hike that covers 4.9 mi, with an elevation gain of 410 ft. The trail system featuresmany old logging roads and newly managed trailsthat form an extensive multi-use network. Habitats on the property include beaver, fisher, deer, moose and turkey as well as unique features such as vernal pools, beaver ponds and glacial erratics. The property permits hiking, hunting, biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing, Class I E-Bikes and horseback riding.
