Granville State Forest contains 13 off-road trails within its 2,426 acres, offeringeasy to strenuous difficulty levels across woodland and paved-road trails. The most popular trail is Hubbard River Trail, a 4.4-mile route with 367 feet of elevation gain, featuringthe Hubbard River cascading through natural rock formations forming pools and waterfalls as it drops 450 feet in 2.5 miles. Located along the southern border of Massachusetts in the towns of Granville and Tolland, the state forest borders with Connecticut’s Tunxis State Forest, creating a sense of tranquil remoteness. Beyond hiking, visitors can enjoy biking and snowshoeing, and the forest offerscampsites deep in the woods with overnight camping available at $17/night for Massachusetts residents and $54/night for non-residents.
