Fishermen’s Memorial State Park is a public recreation area and campground encompassing 91 acres on Point Judith in the town of Narragansett, Rhode Island. The Woodland Trail takes you through the forest on the natural woodland trail system and by many historical buildings, where you will see a variety of trees, plants, and critters like whitetail deer, wild turkeys, and bald eagles. There is a big hill with a deck on top with a nice view of Narragansett. The state park occupies a portion of the former Fort Nathaniel Greene; during World War II, Fort Greene was constructed as a 270-acre defensive facility as part of coastal defenses around Narragansett Bay. The park offers beachside RV camping across four distinct camping areas with 182 sites, featuring prime access to Rhode Island’s popular beaches including Scarborough, Salty Brine, and Roger Wheeler State Beach, with convenient access to the Block Island Ferry and Point Judith Pond fishing.
