The trails are short and well-maintained, withthe Tupelo Trail featuring a 0.4-mile boardwalk through a tupelo swamp, plus shorter paths through oak and coniferous forests. The trail system is primarily loop-based with interconnected short routes rather than a single long trail. The inland portion is noted for its pocket swamp and tupelo trees found at the northern limit of the species’s range. After exploring the trails, visitors can walk through an underpass to Ferry Beach’s white sand beach to swim, sunbathe, or fish.
