The Ernie Boothroyd Nature Preserve offers 1.75 miles of trails, making it aneasy loop hike. The well-blazed trail meanders through stands of thick mountain laurel, with Sitting Rock, a small boulder with a flat top that overlooks the woods below, offering a pleasant place to rest and contemplate the beauty of nature. The preserve abuts the Nye-Holman State Forest and provides habitat for a large variety of animal and bird wildlife. Both Boothroyd and its adjacent Bellante Preserve are pretty little preserves that make for quick hikes great for little kids.
