This is a moderately challenging hiking areafeaturing a network of trails that travels through a forest consisting predominately of red maple, birch, aspen, red oak, white pine, and hemlock, over a short boardwalk, along the base of Bald Mountain, and ascends to a summit lookout. The main loop is 2.1 miles, andthe trails traverse through cliffs, next to towering boulders, and to a summit with stunning views of the nearby hills. The summit features multiple human-made rock features and many areas to explore. This is a popular trail for hiking, rock climbing, and snowshoeing, andthe forest was gifted to the Monadnock Conservancy by Ben and Judy Sands, with trails built by a local Boy Scout.
