Crotched Mountain Accessible Trails comprise one of the longest universally accessible trail networks in a mountain environment in the United States. The trail system includes the Gregg Trail and Dutton Brook Trail, offering a combined 3.6 miles of hardpack surfaces, boardwalks, switchbacks, and rest areas. The Gregg Trail is 0.8 miles from the parking lot to the top of the knoll, while the Dutton Brook Trail round trip is about two miles. The trail skirts extensive wild blueberry fields and crosses open grasslands, offering great vistas of Crotched Mountain and wildlife viewing, with an observation deck and panoramic views to the west, south and east of Grand Monadnock, many distant hills and the Contoocook River Valley. The Dutton Brook Trail is a woodland trail featuring diverse forest and animal habitats that descends to a loop winding around an aband oned beaver-built wetland, with boardwalks and observation decks offering opportunities to observe native flora and fauna. The specially designed hardpack pathways, boardwalks, moderate grades, switchbacks, and rest stops create a natural, yet accessible, experience for people of all abilities. The trails are open from 30 minutes after sunrise to 30 minutes before sunset and are designed to accommodate individuals of all abilities, including seniors, families, and those using mobility aids.
