Camp Hadley Trail, Madison, Connecticut This is an easy walk with one muddy stream crossing, covering approximately 1.1 miles one way from Trailhead 1 on Copse Road to its junction with the Lost Pond Trail. The trail is a peaceful woodland path that winds through tall pines and mixed hardwoods with gentle terrain and a few gradual slopes. The main highlight is the historicremains of CCC Camp Hadley, established in 1935, including foundations, excavations, and stone walkways. Visible structures include the foundations of two camp buildings (a water pumping station and vehicle maintenance shop), as well as a probable well or spring house surrounded by stone-lined stream beds landscaped with arborvitae trees that lead to a firepond. Dogs are allowed but must be leashed.
